During the 2013 – 2014 Programme Year the CRFM continued to advance a number of recent initiatives which are designed to ensure that aquaculture and marine resources make enhanced sustainable contribution to the regional social and economic development. These include programmes to improve governance and management of the fisheries sector, strengthen research and data collection, and build human and institutional capacity to discharge the duties and responsibilities that are part of the multi-faceted portfolios of public and private sector organisations responsible for fisheries and aquaculture development and conservation.
